NEXT PTA FAMILY MOVIE NIGHT
Just keep swimming! Our next PTA Family Movie Night is TOMORROW, February 3rd, at 6:30pm to watch "Finding Dory."  Bring your pjs, sleeping bags, and blankets to cozy up at our first movie night of 2017. Pizza, popcorn, and snacks will be available for purchase at this free family event. Email movienight@fallsmeadpta.org for more info or to volunteer. 

SCIENCE FAIR COMING SOON!
The Fallsmead Science Fair will take place on Friday, February 10th from 6-8pm. Students in grades K-5 will be participating. There will be a presentation by Mad Science at 7pm in the APR following the Sciance Fair. Pizza will also be available for purchase. Be sure to stop by to support all of Fallsmead's budding scientists!

FALLSMEAD GALA TICKETS ON SALE NOW!
Tickets are on sale now for the Fallsmead Gala on Friday, March 24th from 6:30-10pm at the Glenview Mansion. This fabulous evening includes great food, drink, dancing, and fantastic auction items! Tickets are $60 per person or $100 per couple, which includes dinner, an open bar, and music. KidsCo will offer a "Kids Night In" that evening at Fallsmead for anyone in need of child care! All proceeds from the event will go to fund new technology for every Fallsmead student.

WINTER YEARBOOK PHOTOS NEEDED
The Yearbook Committee is looking for pictures from all winter school events from November to now (e.g., holiday celebrations, Variety Show, Valentine's Day, Science Fair and more)!  They will be collecting photos from winter events until March 1st.  Any photos, including those taken by cell phone, are accepted as long as they are 700 Kb in size or greater.  You can add photos to the grade-specific google albums by clicking the following link for your grade (KindergartenFirst GradeSecond GradeThird GradeFourth GradeFifth Grade), or you can email photos to yearbook@fallsmeadpta.org

NEXT BOX TOPS DEADLINE
The next Box Tops submission deadline is Friday, February 17th. The grade with the most Box Tops will win a prize! The more Box Tops we collect the more money we get for our school, so keep on collecting. Each top = 10 cents!!!! PARENT MATH NIGHT
Save the date for Fallsmead's first ever Math Night on February 21st from 7-8:15pmParents are invited to participate in teacher led mini-workshops focused on better understanding your child's math curriculum. Each grade level will be holding their own workshops. Keep an eye out for more information from your teachers in the coming weeks!

WOOTTON CLUSTER BOARD OF ED MEETING AND BUDGET FEEDBACK
Please plan on coming to the
Wootton Cluster meeting with the Board of Education on February 23rd from 7-9pm at Wootton High School (refreshments at 6:30pm). This small round-table event is your chance to make your voice heard on education issues important to the cluster, including the budget proposal to eliminate all but 10 Reading Initiative Program positions in MCPS. RSVPs will be required. . .more info to follow!

Also, click here to offer your feedback on superintendent Jack R. Smith's recommended operating budget for fiscal year 2018. The Comments section at the bottom is a great place to offer your feedback on the changes to the Reading Initiative Program, class sizes, and any other issues you think are important in MCPS!

WOOTTON BASKETBALL COMMUNITY DAY
The Wooton Boys Basketball Team is holding a Community Day on Saturday, February 11th from 10:30am to noon. The coaching staff and players will be leading skill development stations and fun games during this time. Please plan to attend this fun-filled event!
